My Uncle Said...
A downloadable card game
My Uncle Said...
Win a discussion by gaining argument cards that are worth points. You win by having the most points at the end of the game.
Refute fallacies of your opponent by using best practice, or by dismantling their point.
Watch out for conspiracies!
While you CAN play the game like a regular card game, we recommend actually simulating a discussion with the cards. Before you start, pick a topic you’re gonna discuss and take sides for. Whenever you then play arguments, fallacies etc. act as if you’re using them in the discussion. The fallacies are explained in the appendix which also provides some example topics to discuss.

Example of a round (using the optional rule):
Tip: Let every round represent one train of arguments.
Discussion Topic: Cats (Player A) vs. Dogs (Player B)
A: plays Argument 2: Social Media Post
A: “I saw a post by the Instagram-page “Cats in bottles”. It was the smallest cat trapped in a glass vase, soo cute.”
B: plays Argument 7: Article
B: “Actually, I recently read an article about cats being very time-consuming pets because you always have them from situations they put themselves in.
A: plays Fallacy: Personal Attack
A: What would you know? You’re too afraid of cats to spend time with them anyway.
B: plays Best Practice: Empathy (and looks at Player A’s cards)
B: I can see how it makes you angry, that I’m talking about cats like this.
Player A doesn’t have an Argument worth 7 or more and no Best practice card that they want to play. The round ends and B wins.
